About the authors…
Leigh Wyckoff was a gifted musician, songwriter/ composer, and music teacher with a broad bright smile and a big, warm, loving heart. Leigh passed on in 2010, leaving behind a collection of works in progress, as well as several recordings of his music and his Daddy Duck stories for us to enjoy.
Darleen Garcia Gardner is a musician, singer, songwriter, and author of English and bilingual books for children. Originally from San Francisco, she resides with her family in the Napa Valley where she also practices energy healing techniques.
How this book came together…
When my friend, Leigh Wyckoff, walked this earth, it was an even brighter and more beautiful place for all who loved him. His light shone so brightly, it lit the way for me to help write the book that he wasn’t able to finish while he was here.
To honor Leigh, I began to write a book and songs inspired by the characters he had described to me, feeling his guidance as I wrote. Later, a few of Leigh’s stories for the book were found, and by weaving our stories together, The Adventures of Daddy Duck and His Friends was created.
This book has found its way to completion in its own perfect timing, thanks to the talent, kindness, and generosity of friends and family who helped make its publication possible.
It is my sincere desire, as it was Leigh’s, that this book will bring you joy.
